Feel a bond with…

Right now, can you imagine one person you really love the most? The important person to you is always by your side but you rarely realize it. It might be your family, friend, pet animal, etc. Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck makes reader think who the important person is to you.

The protagonists of this story are George Milton and Lennie Small. They are the migrant field workers in California during the Great Depression. George is often amazed by Lennie’s baffling action. George is smart, cynical man who supports his best friend, Lennie, a mental disabled man but physically strong and big. Lennie always says his dream, “living off the fatta’ the lan.'” He dreams, one day, with George to settle down on their own piece of land and have rabbits around him because of his love for touching soft things. They work at a ranch with people who help them out and the antagonists who are opposing them. With many conflicts and struggle, George and Lennie’s bond deepens more and more. When something happens to Lennie, George always helps him no matter what. Because Lennie is mentally disabled, he cannot understand how he is causing many problems to other people, especially to George, but Lennie likes George very much and at the same time, George is fed up to Lennie frequently but he likes Lennie as much as Lennie does; however, their bond makes a surprising twist at the end.

John Steinbeck is one of the most famous Novel Prize-winning authors in the world. One of his books that is read and loved by many people is this book, Of Mice and Men. The American high school students read this in the class and many of them say they liked it. This was adapted for the screen for three times with various famous actors and actress. You might enjoy this book as well as finding who an important person is to you.
