Vampires and More

Do you want to read something different and exciting?

Just look for The Saga of Darren Shan. It is a twelve-book fantasy saga written by Darren Shan. The story is written for young adults, so I’m sure the most of you will be able to read with ease.

The story is about a teenager who becomes a vampire, and has to go through a lot of tough tests and dangerous adventures. The main character’s name is Darren Shan; yes, he is also the author of the book. This is one of many things that make this book such an interesting one to read.

In the first book, Cirque du Freak, young Darren and his best friend Steve, find out about a freak show called Cirque du Freak, and decide to go there. At the show, they see a performance by a vampire named Larten Crepsley, and after the show ends, Steve goes to see the vampire. Darren listens to their conversation and… a lot of twist and turns happen. Eventually, Darren becomes a half-vampire and an assistant of Mr. Crepsley. The adventure goes on into the next book, The Vampire’s Assistant.

The story is set in some time around 1990’s, and as mentioned, this book is for young adults, and should be around the right reading level for many of you. Also, if you have never read any vampire books because you thing they are for girls, don’t worry. The Saga of Daren Shan is just a great fantasy-horror series anyone can enjoy. Most things you would ever want in a fantasy story, it’s got them.

The story has a lot to say about the importance of family, friends, and decision making. Not only will you just enjoy the book, you’ll also learn many things from it.

Also, the series is followed by The Saga of Larten Crepsley, which is actually a prequel. I would highly recommend you to continue on and read that if you ever finish the first saga.
